SAMMY LYU

I'm a freelance film editor, entry-level programmer and VFX enthusiast. I started in film postproduction four years ago with Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve. More recently, I picked up Python (among the first of many), working towards becoming a developer and better understanding the software that I use. I also took some time to learn Houdini, to better understand 3D work.

I like working on things behind the scenes. For example, with film, I enjoy witnessing different elements, live action or 3D, come together to create the tiny universes we see on-screen.

Outside of work, I speak three languages, play a lot of golf and train for Spartan OCR & HYROX races competitively; you could call it a second job.
